Birthday Girl!

So Alyssa turned 1 on October 2nd 2010! It's hard to believe that one year has already came and gone and my little baby isn't such a little baby anymore. I've watched as she has grown and developed, she is learning something new everyday and becoming so smart! She catches on easily and is simply rotten! She "dips" with her daddy...meaning she finds a cup (toy) and goes around pretending to spit like her daddy does when he dips...! It's gross and funny all at the same time~! Hopefully she will stop soon because as of now she does it quite frequently! At her last Dr's appt on October 4th Alyssa was 18 lbs and 9.5 ozs...still not 20 lbs yet! But as of now I'd say she has reached that point! Alyssa is a mommas girl no doubt, she loves to spend time with me, laying on the couch watching Monsters Inc is our favorite pass time! She is doing better with the whole getting rid of the bottle...we were down to just 3 bottles yesterday! The sippy is becoming her friend slowly but surely. My baby girl had an amazing birthday party, there were so many people...family and friends! Thanks to all of you, it was wonderful! Alyssa got so many gifts but the greatest of all was to see all those people gather simply for this one little girl to show their love for her! She ate her cake like a pro...icing everywhere and it was great! I couldn't imagine her birthday any differently! Great day, great memories, great people...great love! Alyssa has so many people who love and care for her, she is a very blessed little girl! But we are those who are blessed to have her in our lives! Thank you lord for her first year, praying for many many more just the same and better!

Baby starts crawling......

Alyssa Grace finally started crawling August 14th 2010! She had been trying for so long and then one evening she just took right off and hasnt slowed down since! It's too cute and I cant believe how much she has grown and what seems like such a short amount of time~ She now follows mommy around the house making it a little difficult to get things done but I just love it! She is currently 28 inches long and 18lbs. Her birthday is coming up very soon and Im just in disbelief that she is going to be 1!

1st Trip To The ZoO!

Alyssa's First Trip to the Zoo was very fun, even though she didn't really understand all we were showing her! She loved just being outside and enjoying the nice weather. Josh, Poppy, Granny and myself had a wonderful time as well. We spent the whole day just looking and having a great time even though it was a bit crowded and warm, it was GREAT! The day ended as we went back to poppy and granny's to relax and Alyssa had her very first bath in a tin pan, it was too cute and she loved it! It was a great experience and I cant wait to take many more trips with Alyssa to the zoo!

Mother's Day 2010

Blessed, Honored, Loved, Special....are just some of the things I felt on my First Mother's Day! I love Mother's Day for the simple fact that I always get to celebrate my loving, caring, sweet, understanding mother! So we, Alyssa and I got up early and attended church with my mother and then returned home to celebrate "me" as Alyssa's mother. I felt so very special but honestly I thought we should have celebrated Alyssa because without her I wouldn't be who I am today! She is so very special and I am the one that is so blessed to have her in my life! Josh did a wonderful job of picking out the best present for me from Alyssa, I just loved it and will never forget it! This Mother's Day, My very First was absolutely wonderful and everything I had expected! I Thank The Lord Daily for the precious little blessing he has sent me, Alyssa Grace! I hope that I become to Alyssa what My Mother is to me! I love You baby GiRl and Thank you so much for making me who I am, I look forward to watching you grow and become a beautiful, smart, loving, caring person! I will be here always to support you and be there no matter what! Also, I love you mommy...You are my rock and I will always look to you for advice and a shoulder! You've been there for me through everything and I couldn't ask for a better mother!!! Happy Mother's Day!

Yummy...McDonalds is way better than that other stuff!

My dad was eating a McDonald's burger and Alyssa kept staring at it, so of course he gave her a bite thinking she would lick the mustard off, oh but no...after he got it back there was little pieces of the hamburger gone! Rotten Tail~! She also had her first french fry as well, along with a banana! This girl will not be eating her baby food much longer if mamaw and papaw don't quit feeding her real food! Shame!

7 MoNtHs

The above picture is over Alyssa sitting up like a Big Girl and watching the Backyardigans!
Alyssa just turned 7 months old May 02 2010! She is getting so big right before our eyes, I cant believe in just a few 5 months my daughter will be the big 1! She is now turning completely over by herself onto her belly, but cant seem to figure out how to get back over to her back! She is completely spoiled and will not sleep in her own bed, wants to watch television before we go to bed, and fights her sleep even for a small cat nap! She is sitting up with the help of her boppy pillow and or us but seems to want to grab and reach for everything in her sight! She leans completely backwards reaching for everything! She is so happy & smiling every moment! The lord has really blessed us with such a healthy, happy, sweet baby girl! She loves to play and watch Mickey Mouse Club House in the mornings when she first gets up...after her bottle of course! She loves the Backyardigans and I believe Josh has now memorized the songs and dances! It's so sweet to see him interact with her and play just like he's on her level! I cant wait to take Alyssa and enjoy all the things we have planned! She loves animals and wants to squeeze them so bad! We are taking her to the zoo this coming weekend, we are so excited! I cant wait to see her experience the sight of all those animals and see how she reacts! I'll post and update and pics as soon as possible!

Happy Easter 2010

Here is Miss Alyssa before we left for church!
The picture above is of Daddy n Alyssa before we left, I just love them both to death!

The night before Josh and I colored Alyssa's Easter Eggs, 6 cute little eggs for a cute little 6 month old. I also got her basket together and had it waiting for her, a huge lamb, Easter bunny, a book, and a new sippy cup which she doesn't like! She loves books!

This is Alyssa putting her first egg in the basket! This one was plastic because we had them originally and I couldn't stand the thoughts of not coloring eggs for her first Easter!

Daddy and Alyssa finding an egg by the big tree!

Whoa, Alyssa found one!
We had such an amazing day that day, we got up and went to church together! Then returned home to visit with family! Alyssa got somewhere between 6 and 7 Easter baskets. I know, a little spoiled but we have a big family! :) Then later that evening Josh, Alyssa, & I went out to hunt eggs! She was so funny, thinking what are these people doing and what are these things they keep making me pick up! But she did good, loved the colors and it was nice just the three of us celebrating Alyssa's First Easter! It was such an enjoyable day, Alyssa had a blast as did we! She did love the grass in her basket, pulling it out and stretching it all over the living room floor! It was too cute! I cant wait to see her next year!

6 Months Old & Growing so FaSt!

I really haven't had the time to post lately, life seems to go so quickly and we keep ourselves so busy we forget the little things and those things we seem to enjoy doing sometimes. Alyssa is 6 months and 3 weeks, I cant believe my little love bug will be approaching her 7 month so very soon. It seems like in the last few weeks that Alyssa has began to do so many new things, everyday it's something new. She can now pull her socks completely off, laugh for no reason other than to grab mommas attention, fake cough, reach for everything in her sight, throw a fit by leaning backwards and shaking her head, crying like someone has killed her literally, clap her hands together, roll over completely until its time to pull her arm out from under her belly and then flops back onto her back, and many others little things in which I'm sure I haven't caught yet. She is learning how to hold her own bottle, but seems to forget she is doing it when she decides to do something else and lets it fall down.

She is trying so hard to wave "bye bye" and say it as well. She says Dada and other little jabbers! She went for her 6 month well check and shots a few weeks ago, she seems to be doing much better with the shots as she gets older except for those that burn or sting when injected. She was 25 inches long ( 50th percentile) 14 lb 15.5 oz (25th percentile). She is now better adjusting to tummy time, although we still only last 5 minutes at most. She can sit with support but still wants to lean sideways or completely forward until her face in almost on the floor. She is taking step 2 foods and eating them like a little pro. I did sneak her some mashed potatoes the other day, she loved them! I can not express the feeling I have inside when I look at, talk to, talk about my little love. I would have never imagined I could feel a love so great! I am so grateful to My Lord for he has blessed me so!

Happy St.Patricks Day!!

Alyssa's First St.Patrick's Day!

My BIG Girl~

We are loving this sunshine first off, I've taken Alyssa out a few times to enjoy it although she isn't sure what to think just yet! I cant wait to do all the fun things with her this summer, we are totally excited to take her to the park! Josh and I were sitting in the living room this evening, Alyssa in her bouncy seat, and I want you to know she said "dada" like three times as plain as day! I couldn't believe it! Now I'm sure she didn't realize what she said, and it was probably just coincidence that it came out but it was adorable! My little love bug is growing so fast, seems like the more I work the faster she grows! I came home to get her the other day and it seemed as if she had grown another two inches. I cant believe the joy that she brings to our lives, she is so perfect in every way. I cant wait to see what the future holds and the things we will do with her and go through with her, I thank God daily for the blessing he has given us and feel more than blessed that he choose me to be her momma! Lovin LIfE!

Five Months & 6 Days....& A Sippy Cup?

Well, we went to Alyssa's 5 month well check today and all was good! She is 13 lbs and 11 oz, 25 inches long. Height was in the 50th percentile and weight was in the 25th percentile. Doc says she looks perfect! To my amazement the doctor told me to start her on a sippy cup, I was shocked but totally excited to purchase her first sippy cup. It's so cute! So earlier this evening I put her juice in it and tried it, she was so funny all I could do is laugh. She couldn't get the hang of it for nothing, and was sooo mad because she couldn't get anything. She is almost rolling over onto her belly, but cant quite decide where to go when her face is almost on the floor so she says, "heck with it ill try again later." She's officially found her feet and tries so sweetly to get them to her mouth but cant get them there yet either so she just plays with them and pulls her socks off. She watches in amazement as she works her hand into a fist and then releases it. It's like "wow, what is this and what do I do with it when it does these strange movements." Time is passing so quickly and with everyday she gets bigger and more happy! :) She is finally growing some hair, still fuzz but it's growing! Cant wait til we get the hang of this sippy cup thing~ Awaiting each and every new day with my Precious baby Alyssa!

4 Months & 6 Days!

So my baby girl is now 4 months and 6 days old! Growing so fast and getting sweeter everyday! She is now laughing out loud & I love it! She is what makes my days worth living! At her 4 month well check, she was 24 inches long, 13 lbs and her head circumference was 39! So she is now falling into the 25th-50th percentile! Wonderful! She also had two more shots, again it was heartbreaking! She's been a bit more fussy with these than the first shots she got, but is doing well. Sleeping a lot and wanting to be held constantly! She is sitting well in her bumbo seat and making the biggest spit bubbles ever! She tries so hard! I'm going to video it soon and post, it's too adorable! I am so thankful for such a healthy & happy baby, the Lord has really blessed us! She is still sleeping through the night wonderfully and is doing the best!

TeEtHiNg...Round One!

So as of about a week and a half ago, Alyssa has started into the beginning phases of teething! Yay for her, she will have cute little teeth soon! So sad for her because she feels so bad! At first we just thought she was getting hungry sooner, then we thought she was getting a little spoiled because momma holds her a lot, then she began to fight her sleep...or so we thought! Soon enough and may I say very quickly we decided we were wrong all along...we started noticing all the little signs. Slobber and lots of it, rubbing her gums together, sucking her hands, trying to eat her bib (ha ha), actually touching her gums as well. So we used baby orajel swabs and the regular orajel..but we were informed by not one but many people that the new and "cool" thing is "teething tablets." They are like magic..or so they say! We will see! :) I was also told today that teething is the worst pain anyone could experience in their life and that's why the "Heavenly Father" does it when we are babies and cant remember it. Alyssa's 4 month checkup is nearing soon, and the closer it gets the worse I feel because I know what's going to happen...that's right shots. But the Lord above knows and sees all, he surely does take care of his little ones! So I know he will make sure she does well with them! Thank the Lord for such precious blessings!

Monday, January 25, 2010

Ok, so Alyssa is doing so much new stuff now! She's actually picking things up if she can with those tiny hands, putting everything and anything in her mouth, following you as you walk by with a sweet little smile, recognizing voices, blowing spit bubbles, cooing and saying "ohhhhh" all the time! These new little things are too sweet! She also wants to sit straight up, no more laying down like a sweet little newborn! She's getting so big way too fast! She loves sitting and watching television, but of course she has to sit straight up or she's not happy! She smiles ALL the time, every morning when she wakes up, most of the time all you have to do is look at her or say "good morning baby girl," then it's on...playtime from there after a bottle of course! So sweet & I'm loving every minute of it!

3 Month Check Up :)

Proud to say, Alyssa is still growing strong & healthy as well as developing properly! She is now 11 lbs and 3 ozs, 22 1/2 inches long! She's petite like her Momma! She is now taking a whole 5 ozs every 3 hours and Thank You Lord, Alyssa is sleeping through the night and has been since about 2 months! She is the best little baby, always smiling and happy. She hardly ever sheds a tear, loves to be talked to and absolutely loves bath time! The Lord really blessed us and I'm so thankful. She's starting to pull forward now, scares momma to death! She's trying so hard to say "I Good," and almost does as well as cooing and laughing out loud. She has found her hands and tries to eat them all the time! She is doing so many new things, It is unbelievable! She loves to watch t.v. with her daddy, mostly ball games of course. Dr. says everything is looking GREAT and we go back in Feb for more of those old stinking shots! Boohoo!

First Christmas 2009

Well, I must say that it was wonderful having our first Christmas as a family! Of course Alyssa was toooo small to understand but it was GREAT! Although we traveled most of the holiday weekend, we really enjoyed seeing family that we hadn't in a while, spending quality time with those whom are close but we don't get to see that often, and most of all celebrating the Birth of Christ! Alyssa was passed from one to another as usual, after arriving home late Sunday evening I do believe we all three passed out! Alyssa got so much, toys, clothes, books, and much more, we are so grateful for all that she got. Although when looking through it all and dreading putting it away, I realized that we are so blessed in this life with the simple things, sometimes I tend to pass those up. We attended six Christmases altogether, yeah...but it was Nice. If only our little angels could remember their First Christmas, that would be so sweet! Alyssa slept through most of the visits we made, but I can totally understand why! Just kidding! Alyssa also managed to find her hands during the holiday, we were at Granny n Poppy's in Frankfort and she kept putting her little tiny hands up in front of her face, it took a while to figure out what she was doing but soon we realized she was finding her hands. It was like, what are these things and what do I do with them. haha All in all we really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to many more Christmases as a Happy Healthy Family!
